Mary Joy Ethiopia’s criteria for enrolling children and elders in a sponsorship program include vulnerability Status; this includes orphans (those who have lost one or both parents) and individuals experiencing economic hardship (households living below the national poverty line). Access to Basic Services; applicants should have limited or no access to essential services such as education, healthcare, clean water, or shelter, and may show signs of nutritional deficiencies or chronic malnutrition. Age Range; the program typically serves children between 0–18 years old and elders who are 60 years old and above. Residency and Community Inclusion, applicants must reside in the program’s target geographic area. Protection Concerns; individuals must be at risk of abuse, neglect, early marriage, or child labor.
These criteria must be accompanied by a support letter from local government offices.

9. What happens if I can no longer continue my sponsorship?
Once you begin the sponsorship, it is advised to maintain support for as long as possible. However, if someone decides to discontinue their sponsorship, Mary Joy Ethiopia will quickly find a new sponsor. If they are unable to do so, Mary Joy Ethiopia will cover the support.
